Dolphin Computer Access is one of the world's leading suppliers of software for visually impaired computer users. AIM Internet was asked to design a site that would be visually appealing to fully sighted users but more importantly that it offered a flow of information to users not able to see the screen. We had to assume that a mouse would not be used to navigate the site so had to structure the content in such a way that the links were logical but not repetitive. Amongst the key features are a fully searchable knowledge base, full site search and region specific information that is served to users after detecting their location. |
| Positive feedback: "Have just had a quick tour of the new Web Site and found it very easy to navigate and I like the way it is set out - very orderly! The site is very professional in my opinion and although there is a lot to be said for 'keep it simple' if it is accessible then this kind of site is in keeping with the best. All the commands for moving around such as 'Jump To' actions work. This suggests you have got it right and many other web sites where one is struggling haven't. Do try the new site, it is excellent in my opinion and very navigable" "I took a look at the new site. It seems very easy to navigate, and from a speech user's perspective there is very little clutter. Nice job. I like the knowledge base concept … overall, excellent job with the site - very usable." "I have scoured this site and love it. I have no problems finding what I was looking for and especially appreciated the information given with each product. I think you and your troops have done an excellent job." "Generally looks very nice and artisitic, gives a quite relaxed, rather clean and not overburdened impression, visually. The virtual focus moves smoothly through the elements in perfect order. This is definitely not the case for many other websites so you must really have done the right things in the HTML. Nice to see a page that really works!" |
